PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS
Shuffles offers two divisions of pre-professional training. Our Tap Companies and our Musical Theatre Studios. Each division is separated into three levels.

Shuffles' Pre-Professional divisions are audition-only and offer a high level of training for advanced students. Auditions are held in May for the following school year.

Founded in 2011, The Company at Shuffles is a Pre-Professional Tap Company for Shuffles most dedicated and advanced students. Company members learn new choreography from Broadway and tap professionals, and perform these works throughout the year with a showcase in February.

Bravo Company at Shuffles is a Pre-Professional Tap Company for Shuffles students ages 14-18. Chosen by audition and led by experienced tap professionals, Bravo Company will perform throughout the year while preparing students who are interested in auditioning for The Company at Shuffles.

Company Experience at Shuffles is a Pre-Professional Tap Company for students ages 12 and older. Training for Company Experience is led by experienced tap professionals. The Company Experience training will help prepare students interested in being in Bravo Company at Shuffles and The Company at Shuffles.

MUSICAL THEATRE STUDIOS

Studio at Shuffles is a Pre-Professional Musical Theater Company for actors ages 13-18. Training for Studio is led by experienced theater professionals who concentrate on total musical theater performance, scene study and theater dance. Studio members will perform throughout the year. Members write their own monologues and act as the narrators of their showcase in January. Actors are chosen by audition. The Studio at Shuffles is ideal preparation for High School and College programs.

StudioAP at Shuffles is a Pre-Professional Musical Theater Company for actors ages 12-16. Training for Studio AP is led by experienced theater professionals who concentrate on total musical theater performance, scene study and theater dance. Studio AP members will perform throughout the year with a showcase in January giving them a chance for solo, and small group scene work. This Showcase helps to prepare them for the even more advanced work needed for The Studio at Shuffles. Actors are chosen by audition.

SHOWCASES
Studio Showcases
In addition to performing in our annual May show, Shuffles Musical Theatre Studios present a showcase of the material they work on during the fall semester. Showcases are held at Studio Maestro in Lincoln Center as well as Pearl Studios, one of the few studios in which Broadway shows and national tours hold auditions.
Tell Me A Story
“Tell Me A Story” is Shuffles annual performance for private vocal and acting students. “Don’t sing me a song, tell me a story” is the mantra we use at Shuffles both in class and on the stage to elevate the power of song and dance to the audience. This “one night only” show is always a packed house watching these young actors experience the vulnerability that occurs with small-venue performance and intimate interpretations of song. It is an astounding evening of talent, determination and Shuffles love!
