Peter Yarin
Pianist/Music Director

Peter is a pianist and composer who is often seen playing and collaborating with vintage jazz orchestra Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks at venues such as “A Prairie Home Companion”, “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”, the Newport Jazz Festival, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. He has been featured on numerous film and television recordings including the Grammy-winning soundtrack for “Boardwalk Empire”, “The Knick” and the “Marvelous Ms. Maisel”, and films such as “Carol”, “Kill Your Darlings”, “Bessie”, and “Mildred Pierce.” Peter has accompanied and performed with artists such as Garrison Keillor, Michael Feinstein, Regina Spektor, Elvis Costello, Rufus Wainwright, Liza Minelli, and many others. He co-musical directed and provided vocal arrangements for concerts in the 92Y “Lyrics and Lyricists” series with Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks and transcribed piano arrangements for off Broadway’s “ENCORE” series. Peter is on the faculty at the 92Y School of Music and Diller-Quaile School of Music. He is also a composer of original music including two musicals now in development.
