Christopher Harrod
Musical Theater/Acting/The Studio
Christopher is a graduate of Northeastern State University with a degree in Theatre and Communications with an emphasis on acting. He has been teaching for almost 20 years. As the former Director of Education for the Thelma Gaylord Academy at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, Christopher built that program from the ground up. His teaching philosophy comes from a very strong acting base, and he firmly believes that ensemble work is the key to learning theatre performance. He has been a working actor for over 25 years with credits ranging from Off-Broadway, Regional (Goodspeed, Tennessee Rep, Theatre on the Square, Lyric Theatre) to television and recordings. As a teacher his greatest success has been helping his students gain admission into some of the most prestigious Theatre programs in the country. These students have gone on to work in every area of the business: Film, Television, Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Regional Theater. He loves working with young actors, no matter what their level of experience, and he firmly believes that finding the joy in the work is the most important thing in any activity.
